This past week, I have been playing on eBay!
So much fun looking for things that might well be a bargin!
Dang, it! Bid too much again!
Actually, I was an early user of eBay.
I ran a modest little antique book and rare print business.
I would pick up BOXES of paper at auctions in the US, usually for very little.
Piece out the items on eBay.
Of course that was BC, before kids!
Ater kids, I was lucky to have the time to take a bath!
In quiet anyways .....
But between all of the surgeries,
Heart attacks,
And the stroke,
I forgot no only about eBay,
But my ID and password!
And then last week - VIOLA!
I could get back in.
:)
And I had $50 in Christmas money burning as hole in my pocket!
Now, I collect Jefferson Nickels.
(this the point where you say, "Why?" ...)
I was greatly influenced in third grade as I was introduced to History.
Imagine mt young mind, already sharpened to the old west by the likes of:
Gene Autry
Roy Rogers
John Wayne
Tom Mix
my great uncle Leonard whio had fought in the American Indian Wars
and yes, the Cisco Kid
But here was rewal history!
Lewis and Clark, explorers, statesmen, and of course a visionary named Thomas Jefferson.
Oh, I dare say, I would owant him as a neighbor,
But, he rose to greatness in my mind - sponsoring the Journey of Discovery!
So, I started collecting US Nickels, with his likeness.
So, I am starting to get serious about my nickels.
And across the past week I have found and purchased all but one of the known error coins.
I can hardly wait for the mail man to come today!
The first of those rare little gems will be here!
Such fun!
And so cheap!
Since, I may be the only nickel collector, ever!
LOL!
