Yesterday's post reminded me that for those whom do not know me, you do not know the randomness of my life,
As a child, I just wanted to be in the Army.
And they tied up my life for four years!
Mostly in court trying to get me to kill people.
But I held even as a youth extremely strong views on the question of the value of human life!
It was not a value shared with my friends or family.
I was an odd duck,
With no support from anyone!
Up until I was 21, I held a billion part time jobs.
Lawn care, home repair, camera repair, grocery bagging, race engine building.
What even would raise a buck!
I only slept 2 hours a night back then, so plenty of time to work.
Then I got a job as a programmer in a smalll computer shop.
I hated it.
But, I had lots of free time for rewriting the computer's operating system.
The manufacturer was very impressed and hired me to work on the design of a digital computer.
But, I ended up on a new breed of IBM mainframe four months later.
And in frustration, I rewrote the disk drive operating system.
And created a data base operating system.
MIT was monitoring my work and was very impressed!
Years later, I learned so was the US Navy!
But it got my foot in the big world of technology.
For the next 30 years, I consulted on new technology projects.
And all free time was tied up with youth ministry.
Then came the doctors ..........
Ah, retirement is so much fun!
Doesn't matter how much you earn,
They have special programs to drain off all you have
:^(
