Casa Bonita

Just a couple of photos from my trip to Colorado a week ago.

I totally cracked up once I figured this one out!

Moi at Casa Bonita on W. Colfax - a tourist must do!

Sopapillas are the whole point of Casa Bonita!

Casa Bonita is a total tourist trap in western Denver.  The Mexican food is barely editable, I probably should have gone for the taco salad, it looked far more edible than what I had!  But, it was good memories.  The sopapillas are what this place is famous for!  Pastry puffs dripping with honey - so yummy!  And so super hot my glasses were fogging up!

It was the 40th Anniversary of the openning of Casa Bonita and so it was one fun night!  Mariachis, cliff divers, wild gorillas, banditos, gunfighters, puppet shows, cartoons, caves, jails, old time photos, on and on and on!  And then there was a collection of Mennonite or similar women running around.  I know there were not Amish (not plain enough), not Hutterite (there never would be caught dead there!), so that leaves Mennonite or one other sect I seem to remember but not the name of.  Whomever they were, they were all as tall as me!  Real tall!

I will share more next week of my trip.
