Soccer

So, Sunday night, I was invited to go to the local Seattle Sounders Football Club game.  Just as last year, thanks to Jeff Bezos.  I was but one amongst perhaps a hundred aerospace engineers, nerds suddenly with a life.

Compared to the rest of the crowd, these guys were really moderate drinkers, however bored.  I am not sure they under stood the game and were it not for the flames and fireworks, might not have known points were being scored!  Only one of them understood that Germany had won the world cup, not many what a world cup was.  So, I had fun!

And a bored engineer will revert to his calling - in this case they were attempting to design small paper airplanes to float down to the field.  It was quite funny to watch.  It was a good game but these guys were so clueless that it made it almost twice the entertainment!

And of course anytime there are gatherings of people, there is also a gathering of their problems as well:
A cougar buying beers for underage males
Underage males whom now believed they were gods
A pervert cutting through lines and groping teenage girls
A total stoner, on what planet was he?, quietly being followed by two Seattle cops

And conversely, a whole bunch of really nice people.

What would a report be like from me without drama or injury?

So, second goal is scored, game is almost over, everyone jumps up and  stands roaring in approval then surges forward.  Unfortunately, I was on the end of a row and section and was promptly catapulted  out of the section and to crash on the concrete about six feet below.  Yeah, quite a jarring landing!  And, of course on my bad foot.  Sigh ...
