The Plan
- You will meet your Bible supplier at a pre-arranged place. It will be easy to find and they will have made hotel reservations for you.
- Special transportation with special storage arrangements will have been made to conceal the literature you will be carrying across borders. This could be a special suitcase, overcoat or vehicle.
- You are shown how to access the materials.
- You are given a name and address in a closed country to deliver your stuff to.
- You do some sightseeing, meet your contact and give them the Bibles.
- You return to your supplier and let them know how it went.
- Ta-da!
Reality
You live in a world that has been broken due to sin and is
under the control of Satan. You will be
traveling through places which are almost completely under his control. He will do whatever he can to stop you, if he
can identify you. Only through the power
of God will you have safe passage and success.
Think you can handle it? Let us
examine a real case history and see how you would handle it.
- You arrive early for your flight and as you watch the food being loaded in the plane, you see the door torn off of the plane.
- The flight is cancelled but you can not go home – you lent your house for the next month.
- All passengers from your town are turned down for the flight, as only continuing passengers will be allowed on the repaired plane.
- You arrive at the capital of the country for your supplier at 3 am, two days late. No one is there to meet you.
- You travel to the town you think your supplier lives in and find a place that seems to meet your agreed to place, but no one is there.
- You have no hotel reservations and the closest town center is many miles away – unfortunately, it is Sunday and you have no money as the banks are closed.
- Monday, you are able to track down your supplier, who is to say the least suspicious of you as you are now three days late.
- Your supplier has already sent someone on the trip you were to be taking.
- On your trip you discover that you are being followed by the GDU.
- You are held at the first unfriendly border for half a day and your vehicle thoroughly searched twice.
- You are further delayed and searched at the second unfriendly border. You are also detained by an armed KGB officer.
- You miss your turn off and slam into a 17-mile column of Soviet Armour. You are inspected numerous times, planes are sent to photograph you, another day is lost.
- You had expected to find someone who could speak your second language but no one does. How are you going to find the Christians?
- You have to play tag with GDU and KGB agents for a day as you attempt to meet your contact.
- Bulgarians decide that they want to steal your vehicle while you are in it – trying to get your Bibles out of their hiding places.
- You meet your contact and pass them the goods. What did you bring that they want??????
- You run out of gas.
- You spend 27 hours at a border trying to cross but so many people are being arrested that you wonder what is happening.
- Your money is not in order and the border guard is having a really bad day.
- You become completely lost – hint you don’t speak the language!
- You run out of gas, again.
- You make it back to your supplier who is totally freaked out.
Now you can sightsee and relax……..
